2006 Colt Canadian Diamaco IUR C8 CQB, For Sale - Limited Run

IUR/C8 CQB, Now Available

It was the night before Christmas and all the Danish Soldiers wanted new M/10 rifles. Retro-Arms started working on IUR gas block in November 2025, its origins came from clone Instagram group chats and a few key people. The IUR first came on the market in 2006. Below we follow the Danish that ultimately adopted versions of the C8 and the M/10.

Although we see variations of this gas block in many forms in pictures from early to mid 2000sa, it was manufactured for almost a decade for various clients by Colt Canada. We choose a version of the C8 post Diemaco era rifle, we call the IUR Gas Block. IUR stands for Integrated Upper Receiver. The picture of the M/08, is so interesting because it shows the past and the future all in one. The future of monolithic designs and the past with integrated designs attached to a barrel.

The IUR Gas Block is a clone of diemaco style C8 flip up sight, both pieces are made from 4140 material. With (two) 1.75’’ Rails on the the 3 and 9 O’Clock sides of the Rifle. We chose not to add a bayonet mount on the bottom as this marketed as a civilian product. There are two Gas Block styles for sale, full uppers are for sale in 9mm and 5.56 calibers

January-18th. We are manufacturing the gas block and starting on rails.

About Our Product

This limited-run C8 clone channels the understated utility and battle-proven design language of Colt Canada’s 2006 production rifles, recreated with obsessive attention to period-correct details.

Offered in both a 10.5” CQB configuration and a 16” carbine setup, limited to just 100 total each, this rifle is chambered in 9mm and 5.56, built around a flat-top upper for modern optic compatibility while preserving its original silhouette.

The low-dome XM177 handguard, standard muzzle brake, and OEM thermo-set polymer furniture give it the unmistakable feel of a service rifle from a very specific era of modern military history.

Functionally austere and visually correct, this clone favors authenticity over excess. A flip-up rear sight keeps the profile clean, while dual 1.75-inch rail sections provide just enough modularity without compromising the rifle’s original intent. Whether configured as a compact CQB platform or a full-length carbine, this C8 clone is designed for collectors and shooters who value lineage, restraint, and mechanical honesty, built not to reinterpret history, but to faithfully reproduce it.

IUR/C8 History

The origins of the C8 are closely tied to Canada’s long-standing relationship with Colt-pattern rifles and the evolution of domestic small-arms manufacturing. The platform traces its lineage back to Diemaco, a Canadian defense manufacturer that had been producing and refining AR-based rifles for military use, emphasizing reliability in harsh environments and close alignment with NATO standards.

In 2005, Colt acquired Diemaco, formally creating Colt Canada. This acquisition unified Canadian production expertise with Colt’s legacy designs and global brand recognition, positioning Colt Canada as a primary supplier of modern service rifles for allied forces.

The following year marked a significant milestone. In 2006, Colt Canada released its first official product catalog, introducing rifles and accessories, most notably the C8, to North American and NATO markets. This launch solidified the C8’s role as a modern, export-ready service rifle, reflecting decades of incremental refinement and the strategic integration of Canadian manufacturing under the Colt umbrella.
